Project Scope: The Lebanese American University Gezairi Building project involves refurbishing and converting the existing structure into the School of Architecture and Fashion Design. With a layout comprising five basements, a ground floor, and twelve upper floors, the building will accommodate auditoriums, classrooms, workshops, labs, a state-of-the-art cafeteria, and other facilities to support academic endeavors.

Port of Tripoli – Lebanon

Project Scope: Under the guidance of Dar Al Handasah, the project involved constructing roads, quays, and utility services infrastructure. Every aspect, from main gates to stormwater networks, was meticulously planned and executed to enhance operational efficiency and accommodate larger vessels. Additionally, the project included the construction of container pavements and high mast lighting systems, further enhancing the port’s capabilities and safety standards.

Qaysamani Dam

Mövenpick Hotel Building

Project Scope: As the construction manager and general contractor, Mouawad spearheaded the construction of the Mövenpick Hotel Building in Sanaa, Yemen. Encompassing approximately 60,000m2, the project featured various components, including public areas, guestroom towers, and extensive landscaping.

Elie Saab Building

Project Scope: Completed in 2005, the project encompassed the meticulous design and execution of office spaces and showrooms, adhering to the highest standards of quality and precision. Elie Saab’s building work included the construction of office spaces and showrooms for the brand and implementing rigorous quality control measures throughout the construction process.

Chabrouh Dam

Client: Ministry of Water and Energy
Engineer: Coyne and Bellier – Liban Consult

Project Scope: From 2002 to 2007, Mouawad meticulously executed various aspects of this project, including road works, industrial building construction, and electromechanical installations. The dam, standing at 70m, required extensive excavation and backfilling, amounting to 705,000m3 and 1,612,000m3 respectively. Moreover, our team successfully executed deep sound excavation, tunnel work, and the construction of a potable water treatment plant with an average flow capacity of 60,000m3/day, showcasing our commitment to excellence in infrastructure development.

Mar Mikhael Intersection Upgrading

Client: Council for Development and Reconstruction

Project Scope: This project involved the construction of a 75m underpass along Chiyah Boulevard, facilitating two-way traffic flow. With an overall length of 600m, the underpass was accompanied by developing secondary roads and ancillary works, including diaphragm walls, drainage systems, lighting, sewage, potable water, electromechanical installations, and road safety devices.

Tripoli Potable Water Network

Project Scope: Spearheaded by the Council for Development and Reconstruction and expertly advised by Ondeo Liban, this initiative encompassed the installation of extensive water transmission and distribution networks serving thousands of residential units. From laying ductile iron and HDPE pipes to implementing advanced water metering systems, every aspect was meticulously executed to ensure efficiency and reliability. The project also included significant asphalt and hardscape works, further enhancing the city’s infrastructure.

Extension of Tripoli Harbour – Lebanon

Project Scope: Spearheaded by the Office d’Exploitation du Port de Tripoli (OEPT) and guided by Groupement Sogreah-Best, this endeavor involved the construction of critical components such as breakwaters, reinforced concrete seawalls, and quays. Every detail was meticulously executed, from quarry runs to precast substantial installations to enhance the port’s capacity and operational efficiency.

Ghazir – Kfour – Fatka Road

Normandy Landfill Reclamation Project

Project Scope: In collaboration with Solidere s.a.l., Mouawad played a crucial role in the Normandy Landfill Reclamation Project. From 1999 to 2004, our team executed extensive earthworks and environmental works, handling material handling and excavation with precision. The landfill, covering approximately 20 hectares, required meticulous excavation and presorting processes to ensure effective reclamation.
